The Institute of Social Sciences at International Vision University took its place in the structure of the university in 2018 and initiated research activities in the same academic year.

To create quality domestic and internationally recognized fundamental and applied research in all research areas represented in the institute, by strengthening the strong sides. 

To raise the quality and diversity of postgraduate studies using advanced research methodology, application of new achievements in each field of study and improving the infrastructural conditions for studying.

International cooperation and student mobility: To promote the international cooperation and communication of the institute with organizations and associations in similar or the same areas of research.

To improve the reputation of the employees of the institute by promoting the scientific achievements and presentation of the results both domestically and regionally and internationally and to raise the level of contribution from the institute on economic, social, cultural and educational level, by promotion of cooperation with the public.

The Institute of Social Sciences is a scientific institution that works on the teaching-educational activity, basic, applied and development multidisciplinary scientific researches, as well as their continuous advancement in the field of psychology, law, economics, education, expert and consulting work, in order to apply the scientific knowledge, sharing and popularizing the acquired knowledge with individuals, and with the public and private sector at national, regional and international level.

          From the aspect of legal sciences; The Institute of Social Sciences will continuously promote the study of legal science and positive law by studying the problems related to the rule of law, human rights, contemporary legal trends in the world. The activity of the Institute of Social Sciences is of interest for the development of the European legal system, because it monitors and studies the development of the two legal institutions of the Republic of Macedonia and the comparative legal systems of European and other countries.

Comparative research, following the scientific directions and continuous improvement of the legal science in Macedonia from the point of view of team work, project work and individual research work. The Institute defines and elaborates the relevant scientific fields in the field of civil, medical and public law, with special reference to the applicable human rights standards in these fields.

From the aspect of public opinion; Public opinion research (methodology, structure and dynamics of public opinion); research of political systems, political and voting behavior, prediction of election results; the study of political communication, the media and the public; explores specific ongoing social events and social groups (political culture, value, and interethnic interreligious attitudes, elite, young people, women, lifestyle); creating and maintaining a database of public opinion and other empirical research in Macedonia; theoretical policy research; consulting services.

Developing research based on the latest scientific approaches, which combine social psychology, political psychology, statistics, as well as interdisciplinary studies (sociology, history, communication studies, anthropology).

Development of basic and applied research in the modern era - modern communications, human rights, extremism, human security, gender issues, social differences, attitudes towards minority groups, which are relevant to the study of discrimination and inequality in the Region.

From the aspect of economic sciences; It refers to theoretical and empirical research and study of the economic reality in the Region. Theoretical studies related to the system of open free market economy, transition, globalization, regional development, labor market and economic inequality, human resource management, international economy. Applied research focuses on programs, methods, privatization models, capital assessment, investment programs, business plans, regional development analysis, labor market analysis and economic inequality, poverty and social policy.

In connection with conducting research in various fields of economic sciences: labor market and economic inequality, poverty, unemployment, foreign policy, balance of payments analysis, exchange rate, human resource management, economic policy and development, financial stability. One of the goals in terms of continuous training of researchers and encouraging creativity and innovation in all areas of research. Analyzes, studies and projects are conducted in order to comprehensively understand contemporary economic problems and stimulate economic growth.

The main directions of action are in the scientific-research field of social sciences, in the scientific-research fields of economic sciences, legal sciences, education, psychology, organizational sciences and management, ie in the scientific-research fields from the respective scientific-research fields.

The main goal and benefit of the existence of the IVU Institute for Social Sciences is proactive participation in building public understanding. The main activity of the Institute of Social Sciences is the scientific research work in the field of psychological, legal, educational, economic sciences, education, training and development of scientific research staff, creation and development of scientific research infrastructure, publishing, and other activities directly related to the realization of the basic activity.

IVU Institute of Social Sciences will dedicate its Work Program to the affirmation and realization of collective action with partners and higher education institutions, for:

• to scientifically study the social phenomena in the country,

• to encourage and organize the study of issues from the social sciences and the development of society;

• to develop and improve research methods in the social sciences;

• to work on the training of scientific staff and to prepare scientific youth in the field of social sciences;

• to provide material and other conditions for study and research work;

• to organize various forms of work with professional staff, for their training for independent scientific work;

• to organize the collection of documentation for conducting practical classes and teaching exercises at the faculties and social sciences at the International Vision University in Gostivar;

• to organize the presentation of the problems in the field of social sciences through consultations, discussions and other appropriate forms;

• to provide and directly communicate the results of its scientific research work;

• to publish publications;

• to develop comprehensive scientific cooperation with relevant institutions, organizations and individuals engaged in the study of social sciences in the country and abroad.

In the field of scientific research and teaching-scientific activity, the Institute will place emphasis on the applied disciplines, striving to combine theoretical knowledge with their immediate usability, as well as to keep pace with the achievements in the sciences that are in the field of its interest and with the needs of the users;

From the aspect of the criteria and standards according to which the academic and expert quality of the house as a whole and its organizational units and staff are evaluated, the Institute will strive to implement in our environment the same criteria that apply in the global academic community, understandably respecting the need a reasonable period of time to revive the planned;

In terms of organization and logistics of activities, the Institute will lead activities as a project-based organization with sophisticated management and strong IT support of operational work, organizational processes and decision-making.

In its total activity, the Institute will cooperate with several academic, governmental and non-governmental institutions and associations from abroad. In that sense, the Institute will act as a implementer of a number of projects locally and internationally.

Primary activities of the IVU Institute for Social Sciences in accordance with the Work Program are:

Educational sphere

1. Realization of international study programs of the second and third cycle of studies in accordance ECTS, in cooperation with higher education and scientific research institutions;

2. National and international cooperation in all relevant areas of action, with institutions of scientific research and higher education - Universities, Institutes, Academies and other informal organizations;

3. Development and promotion of the publishing activity, through publication of magazines, monographs, various manuals for independent learning, all in order to provide easy access to public information and to understand the current state of achievements in science;

4. Training for learning according to the "e-learning" model, in order to enable distance learning in modern specially designed courses, with dynamics according to the needs of society;

5. Customized programs that help organizations understand the implications of their own processes, helping them assess the risks and opportunities for value creation in the context of their own operations, by finding ways to gain social and environmental benefits;

6. Developing sustainable leadership as a prerequisite for long-term productivity, quality and competitiveness.

Scientific research sphere

1. Development of modern innovative models for distance and lifelong learning and research;

2. Development of modern forms of training and acquisition of skills;

3. Customized learning solutions, resulting from working with organizations and their teams, to design content and programs to meet the very specific needs of individual professionals and organizations;

4. Organizing a wide range of domestic and international scientific forums, conferences, seminars, workshops, congresses;

5. Development of research initiatives in the field of psychology, philosophy, history, economics, law, etc .;

6. Evaluation of the application of scientific research achievements.

1. Preparation of expert opinions, audits, reports, projects, etc .; 

2. Expertise related to public opinion and postmodern life; contemporary communications, human rights, extremism, human security, gender issues, social differences, attitudes towards minority groups, globalization, environmental change, the development of psycho-sociological processes. Critical group management, etc.

Consulting sphere 

1. Specially designed consulting services;

           Consulting services in preparation, finalization of documentation and participation in national, regional, international, European and world projects.
