Students will be issued with an academic transcript at the end of their studies at IVU. In addition to the transcript, the University produces and issues a free-of-charge diploma supplement for all graduates. The diploma supplement is a document, developed by groups within the European Commission, that aims to facilitate academic and professional recognition of qualifications across Europe. It provides a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed by the individual named. Students will find it increasingly useful to produce such a document for employers and higher education institutions when applying for posts or further study.
The Diploma Supplement (DS) ) is a document attached to a higher education diploma aiming at improving international ‘transparency’ and at facilitating the academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates etc.). It is free from any value-judgements, equivalence statements or suggestions about recognition.
The DS is produced by national institutions according to a template that has been developed by a Joint European Commission – Council of Europe – UNESCO working party that tested and refined it.
