The Institute for Balkan Studies at Vision International University took its place in the structure of the university in 2018 and initiated research activities in the same academic year.

Mission and Vision

The IVU Institute for Balkan Studies of the International University Vision as a scientific research institution, since its inception, develops mechanisms for continuous development and improves the quality of conducting scientific and applicable research and provides recognizable market services in the field of teaching process through:
Meeting the criteria in the field of organizational management and performance, which includes criteria for development and strategy of the IVU Institute for Balkan Studies at Vision International University, management, internal quality assurance and quality culture, human resources, information systems and financial management

Meeting the criteria in the field of teaching and learning, which includes criteria for procedures for ensuring the quality of study programs, quality of academic staff, procedures for student assessment, procedures for proper information of students, quality of material and technical resources, international cooperation,
Meeting the criteria in the field of research, development and / or creative activities, which includes criteria for strategic planning and continuous monitoring of scientific research / artistic activity, system for support of scientific research / artistic activity, science as support for the economy, system of financing the scientific-research / artistic activity, supervision of the student research and doctoral studies, assessment of the quality of the academic staff of the higher education and scientific-research institutions in the country according to the scientific-research areas from the international fracturing classification, records of the results practical application of the scientific research, development and application activity, and
Meeting the criteria in the field of social justification, which includes criteria for information for the public, strategic goals for lifelong learning, popularization of scientific research / creative activities and inclusion of the higher education institution in social development.

            ACTIVITY OF THE INSTITUTE
   IVU Institute for Balkan Studies - Erol Olchok is a scientific institution that works on teaching and educational activities, basic, applied and development multidisciplinary scientific research, as well as their continuous improvement in the field of literature, culture, culture, education, art, architecture and consulting work, in order to apply the scientific knowledge, share and popularize the acquired knowledge with individuals, and with the public and private sector at national, regional and international level.
The main task and goal for the establishment of this institution is to lay the foundations for the functioning of necessary projects, and thus to build specialized staff from several scientific fields, which will expand the knowledge of our cultural and historical heritage, but at the same time they will affirm the scientific thought in the Balkans on a European and world scale. 
The Institute of Balkan Studies - Erol Olcak aims to comprehensively study the Balkan languages, and the languages of civilizations, Old Turkish, culture, history, architecture of the Balkan Peninsula and to encourage creative endeavors in the field and to take care of the scientific and the professionals in it. The basic directions in which the activity of the Institute would take place are outlined through the following five areas: history of the Balkans, contemporary Balkan languages, Culture, architecture, art, literature and anthropology of the Balkans.
In its scientific research activity in the field of social sciences and humanities, the Institute, from the very beginning, will strive to become a well-known scientific center for multidisciplinary study of the cultural history of the Balkan peoples in the context of the overall cultural-historical milieu. The Institute will strive to provide a representative systematized material from research in the field of archeology, art history, history, linguistics, and ethnology.
From all this arise the primary activities in the realization of the activity of the Institute for Balkan Studies - Erol Olchok:
collection, systematization, scientific processing, presentation and publication of the entire material on the historical and cultural identity of the Balkan peoples;
organizing and conducting research in the field of ethnogenesis of the Balkan peoples, as well as research on the stages of development of their culture;
organizing and conducting research in the field of historical sciences, archeology, language science - linguistics (Macedonian studies, Turkology, Old Turkish); art history (medieval Byzantine art, medieval national art and national art from the Turkish period); ethnology and ethnogenesis (Balkan ethnology and folklore) and anthropology (cultural and social anthropology);
monitoring the scientific achievements in the country and abroad in the fields in which he performs scientific research activity;
organizing symposia, scientific gatherings, conferences, conferences, etc. in the country and abroad;
Cooperation with related institutions in the country and abroad.
conducting research on the history, archeology, culture, international relations, economy and other aspects of the Balkan Peninsula;
publication of scientific studies and periodicals;
organizing conferences and other academic meetings; iv) teaching in the Balkan languages, Russian and Polish; and v) running Greek summer courses for speakers of other languages.
The multidisciplinary approach in scientific research work, in a way, will reflect on this Institute a nuance of specificity and complexity in rounding off and defining the questions or problems in research in relevant fields.
In the field of scientific research and teaching-scientific activity, the Institute will put emphasis on the applied disciplines, striving to combine theoretical knowledge with their immediate usability, as well as to keep pace with the achievements in the sciences that are in the field of its interest and with the needs of the users;
From the aspect of the criteria and standards according to which the academic and expert quality of the house as a whole and its organizational units and staff are evaluated, the Institute will strive to implement in our environment the same criteria that apply in the global academic community, understandably respecting the need a reasonable period of time to revive the planned;
           In terms of organization and logistics of activities, the Institute will lead activities as a project-based organization with sophisticated management and strong IT support of operational work, organizational processes and decision-making.
In its total activity, the Institute will cooperate with several academic, governmental and non-governmental institutions and associations from abroad. In that sense, the Institute will act as a implementer of a number of projects locally and internationally.
The primary activities of the IVU "Institute for Balkan Studies - Erol Olchok" according to the Work Program are:
Educational sphere
1. Realization of international study programs of the second and third cycle of studies in accordance ECTS, in cooperation with higher education and scientific research institutions;
2. National and international cooperation in all relevant areas of action, with institutions of scientific research and higher education - Universities, Institutes, Academies and other informal organizations;
3. Development and promotion of the publishing activity, through publication of magazines, monographs, various manuals for independent learning, all in order to provide easy access to public information and to understand the current state of achievements in science;
4. Training for learning according to the "e-learning" model, in order to enable distance learning in modern specially designed courses, with dynamics according to the needs of society;
5. Customized programs that help organizations understand the implications of their own processes, helping them assess the risks and opportunities for value creation in the context of their own operations, by finding ways to gain social and environmental benefits;
6. Developing sustainable leadership as a prerequisite for long-term productivity, quality and competitiveness.
Scientific research sphere
1. Development of modern innovative models for distance and lifelong education and research;
2. Development of modern forms of training and acquisition of skills;
3. Customized learning solutions, resulting from working with organizations and their teams, to design content and programs to meet the very specific needs of individual professionals and organizations;
4. Organizing a wide range of domestic and international scientific forums, conferences, seminars, workshops, congresses;
5. Development of research initiatives in the field of psychology, philosophy, history, economics, law, etc .;
6. Evaluation of the applied scientific research achievements.

The expert sphere
1. Preparation of expert opinions, audits, reports, projects, etc .;
2. Expertises related to public opinion and postmodern life; contemporary communications, literature, art, architecture, social differences, attitudes towards minority groups, globalization, the development of psycho-sociological processes. Critical group management, etc.
Consulting sphere
1. Purposefully designed consulting services;
2. Consulting services in preparation, finalization of documentation and participation in national, regional, international, European and world projects.
3. Consulting services in preparation, finalization of documentation and participation in the process of using financial resources from national and international funds.
Sphere of good practices 
1. Promotion and nurturing of the principle of "work-study" of students during their study stay at universities;
2. Promotion and development of the volunteer practice for creating quality human resources with high moral and ethical values, and highly expressed care for others;
3. Introducing awards for models of excellence in the work of counseling centers.

In terms of the affirmation of the Balkan languages and the Old Turkish language, literature, folklore and national history, as the greatest national values, the Institute will realize several joint activities with the remaining national and international institutes.
